No. However, a police report may help your chances of getting a permanent restraining order as it can be a record of previous abusive behavior.

No. If there is a threat of violence or an act of violence a restraining order could protect you from potential harm in the future.

Yes, if your situation qualifies as an emergency and you are a victim of domestic violence then we can request the court make emergency custody orders.

It depends but it is a minimum of six months. Divorces can be complex with children, assets, and debts involved. Due to the complexity of each case we like to meet with survivors to understand and provide guidance based on their unique situation.
