Prevention & Outreach Education

Live Violence Free firmly stands by the belief that a future free of relationship violence begins with community and youth awareness. Our Prevention & Outreach programs provide age-appropriate education to children, teenagers and adults in the community.

Our Prevention & Outreach programs include:

Child Abuse Prevention (CAP)

  • Kindergarten – ABC’s of Safety
  • 1st Grade – Some Secrets Should Never Be Kept
  • 4th Grade – Who is in Your Support Tree?

Rape Prevention Education (RPE)

  • 8th Grade – Expect Respect: Mistreatment & Ambassador Actions
  • 9th Grade – Expect Respect: Teen Dating Violence, Bullying, and Sexual Assault Prevention Education
  • Juvenile Treatment Center – Healthy Coping Skills, Substance & Alcohol Abuse, and Yoga/Mindfulness Training

Parent To Parent

Parent to Parent (P2P) is a program that is located inside the Live Violence Free office. Although these two programs are separate, both are committed to supporting healthy relationships between parent and child.

Services Include:

Parent to Parent provides one and two-hour supervised visits and monitored exchange services. The program’s goal is to provide the safest setting possible for supervised contacts, and to prioritize the safety of adult victims and their children while treating each family member with respect and understanding.

Program Hours:

Thursday- 3:00pm to 8:00pm

Friday- 2:30pm to 7:30pm

Saturday- 10:00am to 6:00pm

Sunday- 9:00am to 5:00pm

Advocacy & Peer Counseling

Live Violence Free is dedicated to serving women, men, children, and teenage survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse. If you or someone you know feels unsafe in their relationship, please call our 24 Hour Crisis Line at 530.544.444 to speak with a trained professional. All of our advocacy services are available in English, Spanish and Tagalog – we are here to support you.

The Serenity House at Live Violence Free can house up to 4 family units (12 people total). Participants in our confidential safe house program often must abandon most of their and their children’s belongings. Please see our Serenity House Wish List for a complete list of welcomed donations.

Therapy Services

Live Violence Free provides individual, family and group therapy services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse. Our therapists have received Master’s Degrees in the field of psychology or social work and are either licensed or registered interns working towards licensure.
